About PR²OMiSE
PR²OMiSE, Peers Responding to Overlooked Matters in Social Environments, began as an afterschool program, serving elementary-age students struggling to stay focused and attentive during the school day. As a native Detroiter and veteran art educator, PR²OMiSE founder Dr. Shawn Renee Forman created a unique arts curriculum to cater to the needs of her students, who were mislabeled as disobedient and distractive.
Founded in 2015, PR²OMiSE has grown into an all-ages creative non-profit organization dedicated to harnessing the transformative power of art to address social challenges.
Our innovative arts and health education program encompasses visual, performing, literary, and horticultural arts, empowering individuals and communities to express themselves and foster positive change. Through creative exploration, we provide a platform for personal growth, collaboration, and healing. Join us in our mission to promote community resilience and hope through the arts!

Our Mission
PR²OMiSE empowers individuals to overcome social barriers, build confidence, and develop life skills through artistic self-expression.

Our Vision
Our vision is to create a world where self-expression leads to healing and resilience. By sharing thoughts and creativity, we can inspire one another and confront challenges. We aim to foster an inclusive environment that empowers diverse voices on their journeys toward well-being.
